Started in October 2013, the SHARISH GIN project is a new Portuguese gin and is produced in Alentejo by Ant\u00f3nio Cuco and takes its name from the village of MONSARAZ. Used during the Muslim occupation, the Arabic term \u201csharish\u201d means xara or jara, the very Alentejo rockrose (Cistus ladanifer). Thus Mont Sharish would mean Mount built in an impenetrable rockrose thicket, later giving rise to Monsaraz. This gin is based on a recipe filled with Portuguese ingredients, from Ma\u00e7\u00e3 Bravo de Esmolfe DOP to oranges and lemons from Alentejo, including fresh L\u00facia-Lima, plus the traditional juniper and coriander seeds, completed with cinnamon, cloves and a soft touch of vanilla. All these ingredients are distilled separately in a traditional Portuguese still, and are then subjected to a final blend.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

7 anos ap\u00f3s o desenvolvimento da receita original do Sharish Gin, surgiu a ideia de criar uma vers\u00e3o de como seria o Sharish se o Destilador Ant\u00f3nio Cuco tivesse decidido criar a mesma em 2021, com todo o conhecimento sobre bot\u00e2nicos e destila\u00e7\u00e3o acumulado desde 2014.<\/p>\n

Os bot\u00e2nicos originais foram, na sua ess\u00eancia, mantidos. No entanto, a laranja e o lim\u00e3o foram substitu\u00eddos pela Tangerina, Bergamota e Lima Kaffir. Alguns dos aromas e sabores preferidos do destilador foram adicionados: Cidreira, Cardamomo e Flor de Laranjeira.
