Called \u201cArt Deco\u201d, this limited edition release comes as Cutty Sark continues to explore the rich history, heritage and origins of its brand. This release focused specifically on the exciting Art Deco period of the 1920s and early 1930s. Celebrating a time when Cutty Sark found its way to America and \u201cflourished into the emerging cocktail culture and changed the face of Scotch whiskey forever\u201d .
\nNose \u2013 Rich orange, wood sap, a bit of damp old dust and the thick consistency in the glass is worth noting. Red apple and a little lemon, but this remains firmly on the rich side of things. A naturally indulgent nose. Almost no seasoning, just orchard fruits and blackberries. There is a hint of soap here, which could be mineral in nature, and at this age I won't even bother adding water. Incredibly smooth, without warm alcohol notes. \u201cDairy Milk\u201d fruit and nut chocolate and we continue with apples disguised as warm apple crumble. A slight note of melted butter comes at the end and with more time this only becomes dustier and dustier in the glass. Wonderful nose!!
\nPalate \u2013 Quite a strong spirit that was not apparent on the nose. This arrives with the dusty notes on the nose. The old wood is obvious and gives way to apples \u2013 boiled, ripe, boiled, all kinds. Seville orange marmalade and now some mixed spices balanced with wood spices. A little more wood sap, drops of lemon and after a while it turns into pure fruit juice in your mouth. The blackberry on the nose is more of a raspberry on the palate.
\nFinish \u2013 Short with some wood spice and red apple.<\/p>\n
